This was a rude and humbling awakening for England. Not only have their Grand Slam hopes been dashed, but the alarming manner of this Calcutta Cup defeat has landed a serious dent in their aspirations to become serious contenders for next year’s World Cup.
LONDON (AP) — England inflicted a 48-7 hiding on Wales to open its Six Nations title bid on Saturday at Twickenham. England got a bonus-point seven tries, including three for winger Henry Arundell, in a 12th successive win dating to last year's Six Nations.
He added: "Apart from his bit of a show-off side when he scores, where you sometimes want to slap him, he's unstoppable. He's the Jesus of English rugby...In England, he's their Dupont, their Mbappé, you name it. He's all anyone talks about."
As patrons of the sport (Catherine for the Rugby Football Union, William for the Welsh Rugby Union), the future king and queen are no strangers to the game, regularly attending some of Itoje’s major matches.
