Jamini Roy was born in the town of Beliatore in Bengal in 1887. He started out painting landscapes and portraits in the Post-Impressionist style, which he eventually gave up, developing his own signature style drawing from Indian folk art. One such landscape by the artist will be up for sale in our upcoming Charity Auction in support of Community Against Drunken Driving (CADD) on 9 April 2024.
